Tate graduated high school in Robinson in 2003 and went to college in Mattoon, IL where he met Carissa while she was waiting tables.  Tate and Carissa moved back to Robinson in 2007 just after their daughter Makenzie was born.  Their son, Jacob, was born in 2010.  Carissa immediately found work waiting tables and Tate worked at the refinery and became a volunteer firefighter in Robinson, eventually becoming a full time firefighter in 2012.  Tate and Carissa purchased BackPorch Smokehouse on Jan 1st, 2018 and it is where Carissa currently works full time and Tate works when he's not at the firehouse.  They care about all of their customers and and strive to serve the best food with great customer service.  Stop in and ask for Tate, Carissa, Makenzie, and Jacob and they'd be happy to come out and meet you!
